Summer Camps Schedule for 2023

Our summer camp offerings for 2023 have something for everyone.  All camps feature hands-on art activities.  Discounts available for multiple children and for multiple sessions.  Scholarships and payment plans are also available.  

Some camps fill quickly so register now. 

Little Artists Pre-school Camp

June 19 - 22 @ 9  - 10 AM 

Little artists, ages 3 - 5, will love coming to hear a story and then creating a piece of art based on the book.  The theme for this year is color.  All our stories will have something to do with colors and rainbows.   Parents are welcome to stay, but it is not required.  -$60 

Camps for ages 5* - 10

*5 year olds should have turned 5 before Jan. 2023

Out of this World!

June 12 - 15 @ 9 - noon  

Get ready to blast off the summer schedule by joining Eastend and Kingman Museum in an exploration of outer space.  Students will enjoy learning about the solar system and beyond.  They will examine some actual meteorites and take part in an art display about space in our educational gallery. - $150

Clay Camp Junior 

(offered three times)

  • Session A - June 19 - 22 @ 10:30 - noon

  • Session B - June 26 - 29 @ 1 - 2:30 

  • Session C - July 17 - 20 @10:30 - noon 

Clay camp junior will feature a wide variety of hand-built projects.  Students will make projects that are made with the pinch pot, slab and coiling techniques.  

All projects need time to dry and be fired in the kiln.  There are 4 dates that students can choose from to come back and glaze or paint their pieces.  The dates for glazing are July 5, 6, Aug 16 , or 17 from 11 to 4.  When registering, please select one of these dates as an option on the registration.  $140 

Art Around the World 

June 26 - 29 @ 9 - noon 

Get your passports ready as we travel the world again. This is the fourth tour of the world we have done at Eastend, and our young  travellers will be visiting 8 new countries. They will learn about the countries from a guest, they will taste some of the food and create art based on traditional art of each country.   - $150

Fur, Feathers, Fins & Scales

(offered twice)

  • Session A - July 10 - 13 @ 10 - noon 

  • Session B - July 31 - Aug 3 @ 10 - noon 

Wild animals of all kinds live in Michigan. Some we see often and others are uncommon.  We will learn about all kinds of animals as the subjects of this class. We will paint, draw and sculpt a variety of animals.  - $120

Under the Sea

(offered twice)

  • Session A- July 24 - 27 @ 10 - noon 

  • Session B - August 7 - 10 @ 10 - noon

Darling it's better, Down where it's wetter Under the Sea!  Join us for a week of deep sea diving and exploration of coral reefs as we draw and paint our way through the oceans of the world.  - $120

Classes for ages 10 - 15

Clay Camp Senior

(offered twice)

  • Session A -June 19 - 22 @ 1 - 3 

  • Session B - July 17 - 20 @ 1 - 3 

Clay Camp Senior will feature Learning to use the potter's wheel as well as several hand-built projects.

Printmaking 

July 10 - 13 @ 1- 4 

There are many ways to make art with printing processes.  This camp will focus on two of them: block printing, and screen printing.  Students will design and create a artwork that can be printed on a t-shirt and a tote bag. - $150 

No student will be turned away for an inability to pay.  discounts and scholarships as well  as payment plans are available.
